The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) measures the language proficiency of people who want to study or work where English is used as a common language of communication.

It uses a nine-band scale to clearly identify levels of proficiency, from non-user (band score 1) through expert (band score 9).

  • Two types of IELTS: Academic and General

  • Academic for those going for higher education & General for those migrating to other country

  • The test has four sections Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking

Listening and Speaking are the same for both tests, but Reading and Writing sections are different in subject matter.

  • Paper/Computerised Based Test

  • Max score 9 band
